The\nadoption of NEP by the DCE as envisioned by the central Government has been a\nrevolutionary change in the academia. This step presupposes major structural\nshifts in the courses offered. The thrust is mainly on multidisciplinary\nprograms with the introduction of open electives. It is also skill oriented and\njob oriented. The open electives to be opted are based on the principles of\ncross course choices. A significant change has been made with increasing the\ninternal assessment marks. The highlights of this is the flexibility offered to\nthe students to obtain the marks through the enrolment for MOOCs. The system is\ngeared towards blended teaching and learning. Importance to the economic\naspects with flexibility to earn and learn is a major change with multiple\nentry and exit opportunities. Recognizing the importance for teachers\u2019\norientation to attune themselves to the new system, a one day workshop on NEP\n\u2013Issues, implications and challenges has been organized in collaboration with\nBengaluru North University<\/p>\n\n\n\n
