The Eco Club,SBMJC,KGF<\/strong> observed World Environment Day<\/strong> on 5th<\/sup> June 2025<\/strong> with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment toward environmental well-being of the public at KGF. The event focused on raising public awareness about the harmful impact of plastic on human health and the urgent need to create a plastic-free environment<\/strong>. The theme for this year\u2019s World Environment Day was “Combating Plastic Pollution”<\/strong>, in line with the global effort to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the initiative, 30 students<\/strong> along with 2 teachers<\/strong> actively participated in a community outreach program. They distributed biodegradable bags<\/strong> to local shopkeepers<\/strong> and vegetable vendors<\/strong>, encouraging them to reduce the use of plastic carry bags and adopt eco-friendly alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity received positive responses from the public, and appreciated the students’ efforts. The interaction also served as an opportunity to educate the community on the dangers of single-use plastics and the importance of adopting sustainable practices in daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
