The Post Graduate Department of Commerce <\/strong>at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, Robertsonpet, KGF<\/strong>, organized a two-day workshop <\/strong>titled \u201cSPSS, Excel, and R-Programming\u201d <\/strong>on 22<\/strong>nd <\/strong>and 23<\/strong>rd <\/strong>May 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was approved by AICTE, affiliated to Bengaluru North University, and accredited by NAAC. This skill-based training program ran from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM <\/strong>each day, offering hands-on learning in data analysis tools. It was conducted in collaboration with Central Depository Service Indian Ltd.<\/strong>, with sponsorship from the One Day Young Investor’s Programme<\/strong>. Srikanth Reddy<\/strong>, Associate Manager, was the designated resource support for the event. The workshop focused on practical applications in statistical data analysis <\/strong>using SPSS, Excel, and R. Key areas included collection and tabulation of data<\/strong>, measures of central tendency<\/strong>, dispersion<\/strong>, and frequency distribution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also covered types of statistical techniques<\/strong>, scales of measurement<\/strong>, and data visualization<\/strong>. Advanced topics like inferential statistics<\/strong>, factor analysis<\/strong>, and reliability analysis <\/strong>were also discussed. The two main resource persons <\/strong>were Dr. G. Kumarapandiyan <\/strong>from VIT,  Chennai,  and  C. Arun  Kumar<\/strong>,  an  analytics  expert  from  Chennai. Sri Mahender Kumar Munoth<\/strong>, Managing Trustee, and Dr. Rekha Sethi<\/strong>, Principal of SBMJC KGF, served as patrons for the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was convened by Dr. J. Anthony Gruze Thangaraj<\/strong>, Head of the PG Department of Commerce. The organizing team included Ms. Shamala S<\/strong>, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Mayur Wedeyar<\/strong>. The workshop was open to only 80 participants, ensuring personalized attention and interaction. The registration fee was \u20b9250<\/strong>, which covered food, refreshments, and training materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants engaged in live data exercises and real-time problem-solving using the three tools. The workshop enhanced the analytical skills of faculty, researchers, and students in applied<\/p>\n\n\n\n

statistics. It was an excellent platform for building expertise in statistical software essential for research and business. The program was well received and praised for its structured curriculum and expert-led sessions. Participants received e-certificates upon completion, marking their successful upskilling journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
