The Student Welfare Council (SWC) organized an Orientation programme by Wadhwani Foundation on “Skill Development” to all final year Degree and PG Students.
Objectives of the Program
• To introduce students to the Wadhwani Foundation Skilling Program.
• To explain the importance of employability skills for career success.
• To familiarize students with the Learning Management System (LMS).
• To motivate students to develop communication, professional and workplace skills.
Brief Report of the Session
The Orientation Session on the Wadhwani Foundation Skilling Program was conducted at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College to create awareness among students about the importance of employability skills and career readiness. The program aimed to help students understand the role of skill development in improving their job opportunities.
During the session, students were introduced to the mission of the Wadhwani Foundation, which focuses on creating jobs and improving lives through entrepreneurship, skilling, innovation, and digital transformation. The program highlighted the importance of communication skills, professionalism, interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, and self-management in today’s competitive employment environment.
The resource persons explained the various modules included in the employability skills program such as effective speaking and listening, impactful writing, self-presentation, professionalism, customer centricity, work productivity tools, and online communication with data security.
The session also introduced students to the AI-powered learning tools provided through the Wadhwani platform, including Career Advisor, My Tutor, Interview Coach, Resume Preparer, and Job Search Counselor. These tools assist students throughout their career journey, from skill development to placement preparation.
Students were encouraged to actively participate in the learning modules through the Learning Management System (LMS) and complete the activities to enhance their knowledge and workplace readiness. The orientation session was interactive and informative, and students showed great interest in the program.
Outcome of the Program
• Students understood the importance of employability and soft skills.
• Students became aware of the Wadhwani Foundation learning platform.
• Students were motivated to develop communication and professional skills.
• Students were encouraged to complete the LMS modules to improve career readiness.
