The NSS Unit, in association with the Red Ribbon Club of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, observed World Blood Donor Day on 14th June 2024.
An awareness programme on the “Importance of Blood Donation” was conducted to educate students about the significance of voluntary blood donation and its role in saving lives. The participants also took the Blood Donation Pledge and expressed their commitment to promoting awareness about blood donation. A total of 25 students actively participated in the programme.
The NSS Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College organized an Anti-Tobacco Day Awareness Program on 31st May 2026 in observance of World No Tobacco Day. The programme was conducted on the college campus with the objective of creating awareness among students and the general public about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption.
More than 250 students actively participated in the programme. Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi, NSS Officer Dr. L. Jayapandian, Faculty Members, and students took part in the awareness initiative.
Dr. Roselin, Head of the Department of Life Science, was the resource person for the programme. She delivered an informative talk on the harmful effects of tobacco on human health, the diseases caused by tobacco use, and the importance of adopting a tobacco-free lifestyle.
As part of the observance of World No Tobacco Day, an awareness rally was conducted by the NSS volunteers and students. The rally carried placards and raised slogans highlighting the ill effects of tobacco, encouraging people to stay away from tobacco products and promote a healthy, tobacco-free society. The programme successfully created awareness among the students as well as the general public about the importance of preventing tobacco use and protecting public health.
The NSS Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, in association with the Government General Hospital, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 12th March 2026 at the college campus to promote voluntary blood donation and create awareness about its importance in saving lives..
More than 87 students enthusiastically participated in the camp and voluntarily donated blood. Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi, NSS Programme Officer Dr. L. Jayapandian, and all the faculty and staff members were present and encouraged the students to take part in this noble initiative.
The programme was conducted successfully and inspired students to understand the significance of blood donation as a humanitarian service and their responsibility towards society.
On 21st January 2026, the NSS Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, in association with the KGF Law Association, organized a Traffic Awareness Program to create awareness among the general public and the residents of KGF about the importance of following traffic rules and ensuring road safety.
As part of the programme, an awareness rally was conducted through prominent areas of KGF. Various Judges from the KGF Court, Circle Inspector Mr. Naveen Kumar, Robertsonpet Circle, Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi, NSS Programme Officer Dr. L. Jayapandian, faculty members, and more than 150 students actively participated in the rally.
The programme successfully created awareness among the public regarding traffic regulations, road safety measures, and the importance of responsible driving and pedestrian safety, encouraging citizens to contribute towards making the roads safer for everyone.
On 18th January 2026, the NSS Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, in association with the Government of Karnataka, organized an Anti-Drugs Awareness Program to educate students and the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
A total of 350 students actively participated in the programme. As part of the event, an awareness rally was conducted to spread the message of a drug-free society. Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi, NSS Officer Dr. L. Jayapandian, Faculty Members, and students enthusiastically took part in the rally and created awareness among the students as well as the general public about the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.
The programme was successfully conducted and effectively conveyed the message of preventing drug abuse and promoting a safe, healthy, and responsible society.
