On the occasion of the commemoration of 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” the NCC Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, organized a Group Song – “Vande Mataram” and Poster Making Competition on 7th November 2025.
The event was conducted under the able guidance of CTO Mr. Mayur A. Wadeyar with the objective of celebrating the legacy, historical significance, and patriotic spirit embodied in the national song “Vande Mataram.”
Objective of the Event:
- To commemorate 150 years of the iconic patriotic song “Vande Mataram.”
- To instill patriotism, unity, and national pride among NCC cadets.
- To provide a platform for cadets to showcase their artistic and musical talents.
- To encourage creative expression and teamwork among the youth.
Event Highlights:
- The program began with a brief introduction about the origin and significance of “Vande Mataram,” composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875, which became a powerful symbol during India’s freedom struggle.
- Cadets enthusiastically participated in the Group Song competition, performing soulful renditions of “Vande Mataram” that filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour.
- The Poster Making Competition witnessed vibrant and thought-provoking artworks by the cadets, illustrating themes such as Mother India, Freedom, Unity in Diversity, and National Integration.
- Judges appreciated the creativity, effort, and dedication of all participants.
Outcome and Impact:
The event not only strengthened the cadets understanding of the historical importance of “Vande Mataram” but also deepened their sense of discipline, cultural identity, and pride in the nation.
