The NSS Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College organized an Anti-Tobacco Day Awareness Program on 31st May 2026 in the college campus to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption.
More than 250 students actively participated in the program. Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal, Dr. L. Jayapandian, NSS Officer, faculty members, and students participated in the event and created awareness among the students as well as the general public.
Dr. Roselin, Head of the Department of Life Science, was the Resource Person. She delivered an informative session on the harmful effects of tobacco on health, the diseases caused by tobacco use, and the importance of leading a tobacco-free life.
Following the awareness session, an Anti-Tobacco Awareness Rally was conducted by the NSS volunteers and students in and around the college campus. The participants carried placards and raised awareness slogans highlighting the ill effects of tobacco consumption. The rally aimed to educate the public about the importance of avoiding tobacco and promoting a healthy, tobacco-free society.
