The Student Welfare Council (SWC) of Jain College, KGF successfully conducted the elections for the new Board of Directors (BOD) for the academic year 2025–2026. The elections were held through an online voting system on 24th July 2025, ensuring transparency, inclusiveness, and active student participation.

The announcement of the newly elected members was made by the respected Principal, Dr. Rekha Sethi, in the presence of SWC Officer Mr. Praveen N and SWC Coordinator Mr. Changareddy.

OBJECTIVES

  • Raise Awareness: Educate students about the link between mental health and oral health, highlighting the impact of dental anxiety and poor oral health on overall well-being.
  • Promote Early Intervention: Encourage students to prioritize their mental health and seek help when needed, reducing the risk of dental problems and improving treatment outcomes.
  • Foster a Supportive Environment: Create a safe and non-judgmental space for students to discuss their mental health concerns and receive support from peers and dental professionals.

OUTCOMES

  • Improved Mental Health: Students are more aware of mental health issues and better equipped to manage stress, anxiety, and depression, leading to improved oral health outcomes.
  • Increased Help-Seeking Behavior: Students are more likely to seek help for mental health concerns, reducing the risk of dental problems and improving overall well-being.
  • Enhanced Patient Care: Dental professionals are more empathetic and understanding, providing comprehensive care that addresses both oral and mental health needs ¹ ².

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME: AWARENESS ON “DRESS CODE AND COLLEGE ETIQUITTE

PROGRAMME SHECULE: 1. Inauguration Ceremony 2. Badging Ceremony 3. Guest Lecture by Resource Person on “Mental Health and Well-being”

OBJECTIVES :

  • To understand the importance of dressing professionally and modestly in a college settings.
  • Familiarize oneself with college dress code policies and expectations.
  • Learn about college etiquette and norms for interacting with peers and faculty.
  • Develop confidence and self-expression through appropriate dressing and behaviour.
  • Understand the role of attire and etiquette in personal and profession growth.

EXPECTED OUT COMES:

  • Participants are aware of the college dr5ess code and etiquette expectations.
  • Participants can dress professionally and confidently.
  • Improve interactions and relationship among peers and faculty members’
  • Enhance self-expression and confidence.

CONCLUSION: These objectives aim to promote a positive and respectful environment within the college community.

Orientation Program BBA-2025

The Department of Business Administration at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, organized orientation program for I sem BBA students on July 7th, 2025. The program started with The Department’s activities, including academic curriculum, Internship, and other initiatives, were highlighted to give students a clear understanding of what to expect. Additionally, the career opportunities available to BBA Undergraduates were discussed, providing students with insights into potential career paths and industry expectations. About 52 students participated in the event.

Dr. Tony Lazarus Prem Kumar J, Head of the Department of Business Administration, presided over the program, offering valuable Insight, guidance and encouragement to the students.

SWC Orientation program-2025-2026

Venue:  Auditorium Participants: 240 Students.

The Student Welfare Council (SWC) of the institution conducted an Orientation Program on 21st July 2025, exclusively for the newly admitted First-Year Degree students of the academic year 2025–2026. The program aimed to welcome and familiarize students with the structure, objectives, and significance of the Student Welfare Council in their academic journey.

Objectives of the Orientation Program: Mr. Praveen N, SWC Officer, along with Mr. Changareddy, SWC Coordinator, addressed the students and emphasized the key objectives of the Student Welfare Council:

– To bridge the gap between students and the management, ensuring transparent communication and mutual understanding.

– To promote holistic development by supporting students’ academic, cultural, and personal growth.

– To recognize and nurture student talents in various domains such as academics, sports, cultural activities, and leadership.

– To ensure student well-being by organizing welfare-oriented programs, awareness drives, counseling sessions, and other support mechanisms.

Highlights of the Orientation Program: • The program began with a formal welcome address followed by an overview of the SWC’s objectives
• Students were informed about the various activities and initiatives organized by SWC throughout the academic year,

Including:
  *Skill development workshops
  *Personality development and leadership training
  *Community outreach programs


• Opportunities for student representation in SWC committees were shared, encouraging active participation and leadership.
• Students were encouraged to approach the SWC for any academic or personal concerns for guidance and support.

Conclusion: The Orientation Program was a grand success, marked by enthusiastic participation and interaction from first-year students. The initiative provided a platform for students to understand the support system available to them and encouraged them to contribute positively to college life through the Student Welfare Council. The session concluded with a vote of thanks.
