The Eco Club,SBMJC,KGF observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment toward environmental well-being of the public at KGF. The event focused on raising public awareness about the harmful impact of plastic on human health and the urgent need to create a plastic-free environment. The theme for this year’s World Environment Day was “Combating Plastic Pollution”, in line with the global effort to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable alternatives.
As part of the initiative, 30 students along with 2 teachers actively participated in a community outreach program. They distributed biodegradable bags to local shopkeepers and vegetable vendors, encouraging them to reduce the use of plastic carry bags and adopt eco-friendly alternatives.
The activity received positive responses from the public, and appreciated the students’ efforts. The interaction also served as an opportunity to educate the community on the dangers of single-use plastics and the importance of adopting sustainable practices in daily life.

Objective of the Programme: The Student Welfare Council (SWC) of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College KGF organised the outreach programme to provide students with an opportunity to explore and gain experience in the field of medical science. The aim was to broaden their knowledge and awareness about medical education, research, and practical exposure to various medical departments.
Students visited the following departments: 1. Anatomy Department – Overview of human body structure. 2. Dissection Section – Live demonstration of anatomical dissection. 3. Museum – Display of medical specimens and models. 4. Forensic Department – Introduction to forensic science and autopsy. 5. Research Lab – Insight into ongoing medical research and innovations.

Conclusion: The outreach programme was a valuable educational experience for all participants. It fostered curiosity, inspired a deeper interest in medical sciences, and provided exposure to the practical and research aspects of the field. The Student Welfare Council’s initiative was highly appreciated by both students and faculty members, and it marked a successful effort in bridging academic learning with real-world medical applications.
The Student Welfare Council (SWC) of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, in association with Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College,Tamaka Kolar, Rotary Kolar Collective Action, Kolar, and R. L. Jalappa Narayana Heart Centre, Tamaka, Kolar, organized a Free Medical Health Check-up Camp on 13th May 2025 at 11:30 AM.
The primary objective of this health camp was to promote community health awareness and provide accessible healthcare services to students, faculty, and the general public.
Participation: The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the college community and the general public. The camp was inaugurated with a welcome address by the Student Welfare member, followed by an introductory note by Dr. Rekha Sethi , Principal SBMJFGC,KGF and Mrs. Hemamalini, President, Rotary Kolar Collective Action.
List of Specialist Doctors Available: 1. Gynecologist – Women’s health checkups and consultations 2. Orthopedic Specialist – Bone and joint assessments 3. Ophthalmologist (Eye Specialist) – Vision and eye health screening 4. ECHO Specialist – Echocardiogram diagnostics 5. Otolaryngologist (ENT Specialist) – Ear, nose, and throat consultations 6. Dermatologist (Skin Specialist) – Skin care and related issues 7. Pediatrician (Children’s Specialist) – Child health evaluations 8. General Physician – Primary care and general health checkups 9. Surgeon – Consultation on surgical conditions 10. Diabetologist – Diabetes screening and management advice
Free Services Provided: 1. General Health Check-up 2. ECG (Electrocardiogram) 3. Blood Pressure, GRBS (Glucose Random Blood Sugar), and Blood Tests 4. Distribution of Selected Free Medicines
Outcome of the Camp: A large number of beneficiaries availed themselves of the free services. Many individuals received early diagnosis and medical guidance. The collaborative efforts of the medical teams and student volunteers ensured smooth coordination and effective service delivery.
Conclusion: The Free Medical Health Check-up Camp proved to be a significant success in addressing basic healthcare needs and raising health awareness among the community. The Student Welfare Council of SBMJFGC extends heartfelt gratitude to all participating institutions, medical professionals, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the camp.
National Level conference held on 29th April, 2025 at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, Organized by Department of Commerce and Business Administration.
The conference featured Dr. N. This conference was attended by 100 Delegates exploring Innovation in Commerce and Management with 30 Research paper presented.
The conference proceedings were published in AE International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research(Peer-reviewed journal) ISSN Number 2277-5684.
Key Concepts discussed in the conference:-This National Level Conference witnessed an amalgamation of peerless speakers who enlightened the crowd with their knowledge.
The session started with welcome address by Ms. Sandhya, Assistant Professor, with the introduction of resource person and felicitation.
Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi has given a brief talk on overview of the conference. The dignitaries along with principal, IQAC Coordinator, Heads of various Departments, Faculty members and participants from various reputed institutions inaugurated the ceremony.

C A Vinodh Chandra and Dr. Kalaivani, addressed the technical session, the technical session explored New Generation Technologies and its Applicability in the Field of Commerce and Management.The Best Paper presentation was awarded by the dignitaries to the participants, Dr. Vikram, Assistant Professor, GFGC, KGF, Research Scholar Mr. Narashima, Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa.
The conference report presentation was given by Dr. Kasturi L, Finally Mr. Harish Assistant Professor, Expressed Gratitude through Vote of Thanks, Followed by National Anthem.
A one day National level conference on Modern literature was jointly organised by the Department of Kannada, Hindi and English on 24th April 2025.
The Chief Guest and the keynote speaker during the inaugural session was Dr. Mythili P Rao Academician and independent translator, former dean of languages, Jain (Deemed-to-be University) Bengaluru. She delivered an enlightening and meaningful address by distinguishing the terms modernity and modernism in learning various regional languages of our country which can assimilate the people together.
The inaugural session was presided by our principal Dr. Rekha Sethi who emphasized on the interdisciplinary approach to language in her message.
This was followed by the parallel plenary sessions. Dr.Susheela, HOD of CDL and philosophy, Dravidian university Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh was the plenary speaker for the session conducted by Department of Kannada. She spoke on impact of regional languages in the study of modern literature.
The plenary speaker for the parallel Hindi session was Dr.C.N.Hombali, professor in Hindi, Govt first grade college K.R.Puram Bengaluru. She presented the origin and importance of Hindi language in relevance with other languages.
The plenary speaker for the parallel English session was Dr.C.Arulmugil Assistant professor in Sacred heart Degree College for women Bengaluru. She emphasized on the study of English language as a secondary language and highlighted the growth of English language from ancient times.
After the small interval paper presentations in Kannada, Hindi and English were held in three separate venues. The faculty members and research scholars gave offline and online mode presentations. 40 faculty members and 85 Students actively participated in the Conference.
