Workshop on GST

The PG Department of commerce, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College KGF organized intercollegiate GST Workshop on 30th August 2024, coordinated by Mr. Harish G assistant professor Department of commerce.

Attendance: Total students attended:  200

– PG students from other institutions like Dr TTIT, GFGC KGF, Christ College Malur, and GFGC Vemgal were participated.

Workshop Overview:

National Nutrition Week 2024

The  Department of Life Science  observed National Nutrition Week 2024  from 1st to 7th September 2024 .Nutrition is a focal point of health and well being. The aim of the program is to create Nutrition awareness through various activities with the theme “Nutritious diet for everyone” .

Awareness program-Flash Mob on Nutrition Week 2024

The B.Sc Biotechnology students performed flash mob on 3rd September 2024 in order to raise awareness on Healthy diet and its importance. 250 and 10 faculty members actively participated.

Day 1:Inaguration and Exhibition

National Nutrition Week 2024 was inaugurated on 3rd September 2024 by the Principal Dr.Rekha Sethi,SBMJC,KGF and addressed the gathering about the importance of nutrition for vital functiong of our body. The Principal also enlightened the students on nutrition and importance of water intake in our day to day life .120 students and 8 faculty members are actively participated.

Exhibition

The exhibition was organised on nutrition and health Dr. Rekha Sethi, SBMJC,KGF inaugurated the exhibition and interacted with the participants. The students exhibited medicinal plants, dietary recommendations for anaemia ,Diabetes Mellitus, Heart Disease, kidney stone, gall stone ,Blood pressure check  and Blood Grouping.

NATIONAL SPACE DAY – 2024

India commemorates its first National Space Day on August 23, 2024, celebrating the Chandrayaan-3 mission’s successful Moon landing and became the fourth country to land on the moon and the first to reach its southern polar region on August 23, 2024. To honour this landmark achievement, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced August 23 as “National Space Day”.  The theme for the present year 2024 is Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga.

The Science Club of Science Departments celebrated National Space Day on September 2, 2024. On this occasion, the guests were Mr. Murali Kumar, PUC Coordinator, SBMJC, KGF. Mr. Kalai Chalvan, Head, Department of Physical Science and Secretary of Science Club. On the same Science Club, installation was made on the same day, and badges were issued for the Club Vice President, Joint Secretary, and members. Mr. Kalai Chalvan spoke about the objective of Space Day and the Chandrayaan mission. Various competitions like Collage, Quiz, Chrome Art, Drawing, Model Making and Crossword were organized on the day at the intercollegiate level for B.Sc., B.Com., BBA, BCA, and PUC students. About 230 students participated in one or more competitions. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners.

GUEST LECTURE ON “STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES -2024”

The Counseling Centre Organized Guest Lecture Program  on “Stress Management Techniques” for  Ist Year Ist Sem Degree Students (B.Com, B.Sc, BBA and BCA) on 29th August 2024 at 11.15am in the Auditorium.

The program was inaugurated by “Watering the Plant”. Ms. Latha Priya Wellbeing Officer and Dr. Rekha Sethi Principal, SBMJFGC KGF, Dr. L. Jayapandian IQAC Co-Ordinator and NSS Officer, Mr. Changareddy S Counseling Centre Officer,  Ms. Louisena Vinodh Priya and Ms. Roselin  HOD Department of Life Sciences of SBMJFGC, KGF and Faculty members were present.

Objective :  Stress Management Techniques : Stress Management Techniques involves controlling and reducing the tension that occurs in stressful situation by making physical and mental changes. Its refers to a wide range of techniques and strategies designed to help individuals cope with and reduce the negative effects of stress. The Resource Person was organized  many  activities like Relaxation Techniques, Physical and Mental Exercise, Time Management Techniques, Friendly Social Network , Positive Mindset Techniques and Positive Relationship Techniques.

Outcomes:

1. It created Positive Attitude towards the students

2. It created how to face the personal and interpersonal problems in the society.

3. It enhances their overall wellbeing.

4. It develop their Greater Work-Life Balance

5. It Improve Self-Awareness

     There were 05 Faculty Members and 128 students were benefitted.

Awareness Program on Drug Abuse

The  IQAC and Anti-Drug cell of SBMJFGC, KGF in association Excise Department, Bangarpet, organized an awareness program on “Drug Menance” on the theme “The evidence is clear: Invest in prevention”, on 26th August 2024.

The program was hosted by Ms. Aruna N. Asst. Prof, Department of Mathematics, Welcome speech given by Mr. Praveen SWA Officer, followed by the inaugural speech by Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF.

Resource Person Ms. Prakruti P Jain, Sub Inspector of Excise Department, Bangarpet, spoke about the drug abuse by young people and its dangerous impact to themselves, family, friends, and society. She also added that the long-term use of alcohol or drugs, as well as addiction to either, can have a negative impact on a person’s ability to interact socially.

Chief Guest Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Excise Department, Kolar District, spoke that drug addiction can cause serious long –term consequences including problems with physical and mental health, relationships, employment and the law.
