The Rank Promotion Ceremony of NCC Cadets was successfully conducted at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College with great enthusiasm and pride. The programme was graced by Chief Guest Subedar Major Appaly Swamyand esteemed guestsSubedar Rajesh Babu, Subedar K. B. Jagadale, and Havildar Chandru Talawar. The event was also honouredby the presence ofDr. Mayur Wadeyar, NCC Care Taker Officer (CTO)andDr. Rekha Sethi, Principalof the college.
Programme Proceedings
The function commenced with a welcome address and introduction of the guests by CTO Dr. Mayur Wadeyar, who highlighted the importance of discipline, leadership, and commitment in the NCC.
Following this, Subedar Major Appaly Swamy, the Chief Guest, delivered a motivating address, inspiring the cadets to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and selfless service.
Subsequently, Subedar Rajesh Babu addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of NCC in character building and nation-building. Subedar K. B. Jagadale and Havildar Chandru Talawar also shared their valuable views and experiences, encouraging the cadets to strive for excellence in all spheres of life.
Later, Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal, addressed the gathering and congratulated the promoted cadets for their achievements. She appreciated the efforts of the NCC unit in nurturing responsible and disciplined citizens.

Felicitation and Conclusion
The distinguished guests Subedar Major Appaly Swamyand Subedar Rajesh Babu were felicitated as a token of appreciation for their valuable presence and encouragement to the cadets.
The programme concluded on a patriotic note with the NCC Song. All NCC cadets, parents, and faculty members were present, making the ceremony a memorable and successful event.
The event was effectively anchored by Cdt Harshita, Cdt Kavyashree, and Cdt Angelin Stella, whose coordination added grace to the programme.
Today On 02 February 2026, World Wetlands Day was observed at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF with a Tree Plantation Programme, highlighting the importance of wetlands, biodiversity conservation, and environmental sustainability.
The programme was conducted with the active participation of the NCC cadets, under the guidance of the college authorities. The event was graced by Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal, Shri Narashimha Murthy, Accounts Head, and Dr. Mayur A. Wadeyar, CTO, whose presence encouraged and motivated the cadets.
As part of the programme, saplings were planted within the college campus. The dignitaries and NCC cadets jointly planted trees, symbolizing collective responsibility towards environmental protection and ecological balance. The activity emphasized the role of tree plantation in preserving wetlands, maintaining groundwater levels, and combating climate change.
The programme successfully created awareness among students about the significance of wetlands and the need for sustainable environmental practices. The enthusiastic participation of NCC cadets reflected their commitment to social service and environmental conservation, in line with the NCC motto “Unity and Discipline.”
The event concluded with a message on nurturing the planted saplings and continuing such eco-friendly initiatives in the future.
The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit on 26 January 2026 at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF. The programme commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Rtd. NB Subedar S. Stephen, followed by the National Anthem.
On the occasion, Mr. Shiva Kumar, NSS Officer, addressed the gathering and spoke on the significance of Republic Day, highlighting the importance of constitutional values, discipline, and national service. Mr. Murali Kumar, PU Coordinator, also spoke on the occasion, inspiring students to contribute positively towards nation-building.
The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Mayur A. Wadeyar, CTO (NCC), along with Ms. Elizebeth Rani and Ms. Usha along with NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, whose active participation added dignity to the celebration.
As a special highlight of the programme, the NCC cadets showcased an impressive drill display, demonstrating discipline, coordination, and leadership. The drill performance was well appreciated by the gathering and reflected the training and commitment of the cadets.
The celebration concluded with a sense of pride and renewed commitment to uphold the ideals of unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation.
The Department of Life Science successfully organised a Career Guidance Programme for Pre-University PCMB students on 30th December 2025 with the objective of creating awareness about diverse career opportunities in the field of Life Sciences.
The programme focused on guiding students about various academic and professional pathways after PU, including Medicine, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy, Research, and Allied Health Sciences. Resource persons explained course structures, eligibility criteria, entrance examinations, skill requirements, and future career prospects.
50 Students actively participated in the interactive session, clarifying their doubts regarding subject selection, competitive exams, and career planning. The programme helped students gain clarity and confidence in choosing suitable career options in Life Science.
The event was informative and beneficial, encouraging students to explore emerging opportunities in Life Science related fields.
The Commerce Department successfully conducted the Brand Display Competition as part of Comfiesta 2K25. The event aimed to encourage creativity, promote awareness about brand identity, and enhance students’ communication and presentation skills. It provided a platform for students to display existing brands and promote them by highlighting their unique features, strengths, and marketing strategies.

The competition fostered creativity, teamwork, and recycling, and we appreciate the participants’ enthusiasm and the judges’ expertise.”

The Live Reporting competition, held as part of Comfiesta 2K25, put students Journalism skills to the test. Participants were given random topics and had to think on their feet, reporting live like real-life news anchors.
Rules: – Current news topics were displayed on the screen. – Participants had to cover the news in a live report, individually.
Objective:
The Live Reporting competition aimed to: – Test participants’ ability to think critically and present confidently under pressure. – Evaluate their research skills and ability to articulate complex information clearly. – Provide a platform for students to showcase their journalism skills and creativity.
The event was a resounding success, with participants demonstrating their potential as future news Anchors!
Day 05 – PAPER PRESENTATION
Topic: “CHAT GPT AND ITS IMPACT ON EDUCATION” Date: 23/09/2025
The Department of Commerce organized a Paper Presentation competition on the topic “Chat GPT and Its Impact on Education” on 23rd September 2025 Tuesday. The event aimed to encourage students to explore the transformative role of AI tools like Chat GPT in modern education, emphasizing innovation, research, and critical thinking.
Students actively participated, presenting well-researched papers that highlighted Chat GPT’s potential in enhancing learning experiences, personalized education, and academic support. The participants showcased creativity, analytical skills, and effective communication during their presentations.
