The Department of Commerce organized a Guest Lecture on the topic: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS AND PATENT FILING
Dr. Vijaya Geetha R was the resource person for the event, she is working as associate professor in department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology, KGF
Total 100 students attended the lecture and gained knowledge about intellectual property rights and patent filing.
Department of commerce had conducted outreach program on 13th June 2023 on social awareness message on various issues like prohibition on use of plastic, child labor, domestic violence, traffic rules, dowry issues etc.
Objective: A general awareness to the general public on various social issues, Awareness was given through street play by b.com final year students.

Outcome: the awareness was given to the residents and children of Byatranahalli village in the form of skit spreading message on various social messages.
The residents applauded and thanked the students for such awareness program.
Department of commerce had conducted outreach program on 12TH JUNE 2023, at Government high school Balamande village ,Karnataka on environmental awareness program.
Objective: The objective of this program is to spread awareness about saving our environment and to plant more and more trees to make our mother earth full of greenery.

Outcome: The attendees took a promise that no one will pollute the environment and will not allow anyone to do so. Students of SBMJFGC planted the saplings in the school premises.
Prof Sandhya V, Faculty of Commerce and Management, actively participated as a “Rapporteur” for the subject “Personal Wealth Management”. This Orientation programme was jointly organised by Kairalee Nikethan Golden Jubilee Degree College and Bengaluru North University Teachers Council of Commerce & Management (BNUTCCM) on 16/6/2023.
Madam was a panel member in the curriculum design decision making and at the end of the programme, she was felicitated for being the Rapporteur for the day.

About the session: NEP focuses on affordability accessibility and accountability, to ensure continual learning process for any activity continuous research is required, the speaker highlighted about the inbuilt feature of research in NEP curriculum and academic research in an integral part of the higher education system.

1. To bring in awareness about research culture
2. To gain knowledge on NEP and Research activity.
Outcome:Participants understood the NEP process, essence of research and inculcated Research culture.
