The NPTEL–SWAYAM Online Certificate Orientation Program was organized for first-year undergraduate students to create awareness about the online certification courses offered through the SWAYAM platform. The program was conducted over two days. The first session was held on 21^st July 2026 for the first-year B.Com and BBA students, while the second session was conducted on 24^th July 2026 for the first-year BCA, PMCS, and BGB students.

The orientation program was conducted by Mr. Harish, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, and NPTEL Local Chapter SPOC. The session provided students with a comprehensive overview of the objectives and benefits of NPTEL–SWAYAM courses, the registration process, course structure, weekly assignments, examination and certification procedures, and the opportunities available for skill development, academic enrichment, and career advancement through online learning. Students were encouraged to make effective use of the platform by enrolling in courses aligned with their academic interests and career aspirations..

To inspire the newly admitted students, Bhavana, Kayva, Sanjana, Shobitha, Sakeena, Shilpa and Jeevan, who had successfully completed NPTEL–SWAYAM courses, shared their learning experiences and highlighted the academic and professional benefits they gained through the program. They motivated the first-year students to actively participate in NPTEL courses and make continuous learning a part of their academic journey.

The orientation sessions received an enthusiastic response from the students. A total of 140 students attended the session held on 21^st July 2026 , while 150 students participated in the session conducted on 24^th July 2026 for The interactive question-and-answer session at the end enabled students to clarify their queries regarding course selection, enrolment, assignments, examinations, and certification. The program concluded on a positive note, with a majority of the participants expressing interest in the initiative and successfully enrolling in NPTEL–SWAYAM courses.

As a part of Academic Activity of the Department, Orientation Programme was organized for the first semester Degree students of all the following Courses (BBA, BCA, B.Com, BSc-BGB & BSc-PMCs) at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College K.G.F The major objective of the Orientation Programme was to make the students understand the Academic aspects of the Library. Students attended the programme with good concentration and we took the feedbacks & we have attached the photos below.

In this Orientation Programme the Librarian deliberated words of advice & suggestions to the 1^st year students on the following points:

• A Small introduction about the Library & good briefing by the Librarian & Library Admin about the Services provided by the Library.
• The Resources available in our library and how the students can utilize it.
• Explained about the SC/ST Book Bank which is available in our Library.

• The availability of extra cards based on two options i.e. Merit & SC/ST Category.
• Rules & Regulations of the department of Library.
• The Importance of the Library hour in the regular class time table.
• Providing extra Library hour for the students every day and during the Examination time.
• Importance of utilizing the books for reading & studying purposes.
• An introduction about the Reprographic Centre.
• The facilities available in the library for the students and staffs.
• The strategic plans of library for the upcoming days.

  A brief write up of the programme:

          The Library and Information Centre of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College K.G.F, organized a Book Week from 07/11/2025 to 17/11/2025. The programme was inaugurated with the auspicious hands of our beloved principal Dr. Rekha Sethi. The main motive of the programme is to promote the use of books as well as the Library among the students, faculty members and Administrative staff of the college.

By conducting this Book Week we provide information like what kind of books are available in the Library. We have displayed the Reference Books of BCA, BBA, B.Com, BSc-PMCs and BSc-BGB, Languages, Dictionaries, Journals, Magazines, Newspapers, Cd’s, Commerce books, M.Com dissertation,
SC/ST Book Bank, Rare Books, Competitive exam books, Common Entrance Test (CET) Books, Bound Back Volumes.

Books create a good moral human being as well as create transformation in human life about the future. This awareness is created by the department of Library and Information Centre. The Book Week was successful by the contribution of all students, faculty members and administrative staff of Library. The feedback form is collected from students and faculty members are maintained and suggestions are accepted.
