DAY 1

AWARENESS PROGRAM

Flash Mob on National Nutrition Week 2021

The students performed Flash Mob on Tuesday, 14th December 2021 in order to raise awareness about diet and health among students. 300 students and 34 faculty members

DAY – 2

The Department of Life Sciences observed Nation

al Nutrition Week 2021 with the theme ‘Feeding smart right from start’. The students showcased the importance of nutrition and health through Flash Mob on 14th Dec 2021 and students exhibited the diets for various clinical conditions through Exhibition on 15th Dec 2021. 45 faculty members and 356 students from all the streams visited the exhibition and gained knowledge.

DAY 3

Collage Competition

Collage competition was conducted on 16th December 2021 on nutrition and diet. 24 students actively participated.

Indentify Me Competition

Different varieties of cereals come with different nutrient value, some are rich in vitamins, minerals, others are high in proteins, and iron. Since cereals are available throughout the year, it is often a staple food for many people around the world. In this competition Grains, cereals and pulses were displayed and it was identified by the students and the maximum number of identification was considered. This event was held on 16th December 2021

DAY 4

Healthy recipe competition

A healthy diet helps to protect against malnutrition. Consuming a healthy diet throughout the life-course helps to prevent malnutrition. This event was organized to bring awareness on balanced diet and its importance on 17th Dec 2021.10 students participated in this competition.

DAY 5

Connections competition

Preliminary round for the connection competition was conducted on 20th Dec 2021.60 students participated in this event and the students were scrutinized based on the score.

WORLD AIDS DAY 2021

The department of Life Sciences in association with Indian Medical Association, KGF branch conducted speech competition on AIDS and its prevention in order to observe World AIDS day  on 1st Dec 2021 with the theme “End inequality and End AIDS”. The students from other institutions of Kolar District participated in the competitition and won the prizes.Dr.Vijaya Kumar, General Secretary, IAM, KGF and the members of IMA participated in the program.150 students and 06 faculty members participated in this program and gained knowledge. The chief guest of the event was Dr.Nagappa and Guest of Honor Dr.Rajendra Kumar and Mr.Babu Office Superindent, SBMFGC, KGF.The panel of judges were Dr.Parameshwer, Dr.Nagappa, Dr.Prakash, Dr.Savitha and Dr Rohini.

World Environment Day

The Life Sciences Department Organised World Environment Day on 23rd June 2021

Outreach Program -2021

The Department of Life Sciences organized an awareness program on 16th Nov 2021 on Diet to boost immunity, COVID-19 management Environmental consciousness. Our students demonstrated  Blood grouping, to check BP and oxygen saturation level for higher primary and higher secondary school children at DoddaPonandahalli,Near Thoppanahalli,Bangarpet Taluk,Kolar District.250 school students ,07 teachers of higher primary and higher secondary school and 33 students,04 faculty members of SBMJFGC,KGF actively participated and gained knowledge.The pamphlets were distributed for the public to bring an awareness about the same.

INTERNATIONAL DIABETES DAY

The Department of Life Science in association with Indian Medical Association – KGF branch and Aster Medipharm Pvt Ltd organized FREE DIABETIC, HYPERTENSION AND TREATMENT CAMP for the general public of KGF on 14th November 2021 at 07:00 am in the  uditorium SBMJFGC KGF to observe International Diabetes day .

The facilities were availed by 150 public people in and around KGF. 51 students and 04 faculty members of Life Science department actively participated in registration of patients, Blood sugar testing, BP check, BMI check, ECG and also created awareness on Diabetes
Meillitus  and its prevention by using power point presentation .The students also assisted the doctors during the consultation.
