Inter group sports shooting competition – 2025– held at Sports authority of India Shorting range, Mysore road, Bengaluru-560056 from 02nd June to 11th of June 2025.

Our cadet, JUO. Deepan Vel, represented our group with great commitment and exemplary sportsmanship in the shooting event. Demonstrating remarkable precision, focus, and consistency under pressure, he secured the Bronze Medal, bringing pride to our unit and showcasing the quality training and discipline instilled through the NCC program. This achievement reflects the dedication of both the cadet and the instructors, and it serves as an inspiration for fellow cadets to pursue excellence not only in academics and leadership but also in sports and extracurricular activities. Yoga Session By NCC Cadets

The NCC Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer First Grade College, KGF in Association with 10 KAR Battalion NCC, Kolar conducted yoga session on 26th May 2025 from 8:45 am to 10:00 am at our college campus open auditorium.

A Yoga session was successfully organized with the objective of promoting physical well-being, mental clarity, and discipline among NCC cadets. This initiative reinforces the National Cadet Corps’ commitment to holistic development and aligns with broader national efforts to integrate Yoga into youth programs as a means of fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi, along with senior NCC officials Sub Maj Appaly Swamy, Sub Rajesh Babu, and Hav Vikas Pandey, whose encouragement greatly inspired the cadets.

The session was conducted by Mr. Shivappa, an advocate and certified Yoga teacher, and Ms. Bhagya Jyoti, a professional Yoga instructor. They demonstrated various Yoga asanas and techniques, while also educating the cadets on the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of regular Yoga practice.

A total of 50 cadets, along with several students and faculty members, actively participated in the session, making it a truly inclusive and engaging event. The presence of CTO Mayur A. Wadeyar added to the significance of the occasion. He also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the instructors, dignitaries, and participants for their involvement and support.

The session concluded on a positive note, leaving the participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of Yoga in leading a disciplined and healthy life. The success of this event reflects the collective efforts of the NCC unit, faculty, and supporting staff in fostering holistic growth among students.

Report on Visit of Colonel Zakir Husain, Administrative Officer of 10 Kar Battalion to Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College KGF NCC Unit

Purpose of the Visit:

The primary objective of Colonel Zakir Husain’s visit was to assess the functioning of the NCC unit at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, and to review the activities, discipline, and overall performance of the cadets. Additionally, the visit aimed to encourage the students to engage in more disciplined and structured activities, fostering their overall development through NCC participation.

Objectives of the Visit:

  1. Assess the Functioning of the NCC Unit
  2. Review of Training Facilities
  3. Encourage Cadets’ Personal Development
  4. Promote National Service and Army Careers
  5. Provide Feedback on NCC Activities
  6. Strengthen Communication Between NCC Officials and Cadets

Observations and Activities:

  1. Introduction and Welcome: Colonel Zakir Husain was warmly welcomed by the Principal, the NCC Caretaker, IQAC coordinator, Staff and cadets of the unit. The visit commenced with an introduction to the staff and cadets, followed by a brief overview of the NCC unit’s activities.
  2. Inspection of NCC Facilities: Colonel Husain conducted a thorough inspection of the NCC facilities at the college. He inspected the training equipment, infrastructure, and training areas. Special attention was given to the upkeep and preparedness of the cadet uniforms and the overall cleanliness of the NCC grounds.
  3. Interaction with Cadets: Colonel Husain addressed the NCC cadets and shared his valuable insights on the importance of discipline, leadership, and teamwork. He highlighted how NCC serves as an excellent platform for personal growth and national service. The cadets had the opportunity to interact with Colonel Husain, asking questions related to their training and career prospects in the armed forces.
  4. Motivational Speech: Colonel Zakir Husain gave a motivational speech, emphasizing the significance of serving the nation through NCC and the armed forces. He urged the cadets to maintain a high level of physical fitness, ethical conduct, and dedication to their duties. He also discussed various opportunities available to NCC cadets in the army and other defence services.
  5. Review of NCC Events: Colonel Husain reviewed past events conducted by the NCC unit, including camps, social services, and leadership programs. He commended the unit for their active participation and highlighted areas of improvement.

Recommendations:

  • Enhanced Training Programs: Colonel Husain suggested the introduction of specialized training programs to better equip cadets for various NCC exams and leadership roles.
  • Improved Infrastructure: While the facilities were commendable, he recommended minor upgrades to enhance training effectiveness and cadet experience.
  • More Interaction with Senior NCC Officials: Colonel Husain proposed that the cadets engage more with senior NCC officials for better exposure and learning.

Colonel Zakir Husain’s visit to Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College KGF was a productive and insightful one. The cadets and staff appreciated his guidance and encouragement. World Environment Day

The NCC & NSS Unit jointly organised tree plantation program on the eve of World Environment Day the 5th June 2024. This program helps to create awareness about various issues that have adverse effects on the environment, like global warming, over pollution and crime against wildlife. The environment plays an integral role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem we live in. More than 30 sapling were planted at King George Hall, Robertsonpet, Kolar Gold Fields.
