The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of SBMJC solemnly observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2025 to honor the valor, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War of 1999. The event aimed to instill a sense of national pride and pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Objective of the Event

The primary objectives of the Kargil Vijay Diwas observance were:

  • To commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the Kargil conflict.
  • To instill values of patriotism, duty, and courage among the cadets and students.
  • To spread awareness about the historical significance of the Kargil War.

Programme Highlights

The event began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of the fallen heroes.

Patriotic Song and Poetry

NCC cadets presented patriotic songs and poems dedicated to the Indian Army, evoking a strong emotional response from the audience.

Speech by CTO Mayur A Wadeyar

CTO Mayur A Wadeyar addressed the cadets and students, emphasizing the importance of national security, discipline, and youth participation in nation-building. He urged the cadets to carry forward the legacy of bravery and commitment exhibited during the Kargil War.

Screening of Kargil War Documentary

A short documentary on the Kargil War and Operation Vijay was screened to provide visual insight into the challenges faced by Indian soldiers and their heroic efforts in reclaiming the occupied peaks.

Vote of Thanks

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Cadet Nandu Priya, who expressed gratitude to the principal, faculty members, NCC officers, cadets, and attendees for their participation and support in making the event a success.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas commemoration at SBMJC served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our armed forces. It reinforced a sense of pride, respect, and responsibility among the cadets and students. The programme was not only educational but also deeply moving, instilling in everyone present a renewed sense of patriotism and gratitude toward our soldiers.

Anti-Drug Awareness Rally and Pledge-Taking Program

To mark a strong stand against drug abuse and promote healthy living among youth, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, in collaboration with the Police Department and the NCC Unit, organized a massive Anti-Drug Awareness Rally and Pledge-Taking Program.

The rally was flagged off at the Municipality Ground, KGF, and covered key locations including Soorajmul Circle, Gandhi Circle, Prichard Road, and Geetha Road, before concluding at the Robertsonpet Police Station. The streets of KGF echoed with powerful slogans such as “Say No to Drugs”, “Youth Against Drugs”, and “Healthy Mind, Drug-Free Life”, capturing public attention and spreading a strong anti-drug message.

A total of 20 NCC cadets and over 250 students from our college actively participated in the rally. The participants marched with enthusiasm, raising powerful slogans such as “Say No to Drugs” and other awareness messages, drawing the attention of the general public and inspiring community engagement in the fight against drug abuse.

The event was presided over by Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal of the college, who addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of youth involvement in social issues, particularly drug prevention.

Distinguished members present at the event included:

  • Mr. Murali Kumar P, PU Coordinator, Mr. Shiva Kumar, NSS Officer, Mr. Mayur A. Wadeyar, NCC Caretaker Officer (CTO), Faculty members and staff of the college

From the Police Department, the following officials graced the event with their presence and support:

  • DYSP Mr. Panduranga, CPI Mr. Naveen Kumar,  CPI Mr. Laxmi Narayana
  • Other police personnel

The rally concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony, where students and faculty members vowed to stay away from drugs and become ambassadors of a drug-free society.

This impactful event not only raised awareness but also fostered a sense of responsibility among students to contribute positively to society. The collaboration between the college, the police department, and the NCC unit served as a powerful reminder of the collective effort needed to combat drug abuse in our communities.

International Yoga Day Celebration

Date: 21st June 2025 Time: 06:30 hours Location: Municipal Ground KGF

Event Summary: The International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and participation by NCC cadets, CO Sir, PI Staff, ANOs and CTOs of various institutes. The event commenced at 0630 hours, and all participants adhered to the dress code.

Key Highlights:

1. NCC cadets actively participated in the yoga session, demonstrating discipline and focus.

2. CO Sir, PI Staff, and CTO were present to guide and oversee the event.

Overall Assessment: The event was a resounding success, with all participants showcasing their commitment to the practice of yoga. The celebration served as a great opportunity for NCC cadets to promote physical and mental well-being while fostering a sense of unity and discipline.

Inter group sports shooting competition by NCC

Inter group sports shooting competition – 2025– held at Sports authority of India Shorting range, Mysore road, Bengaluru-560056 from 02nd June to 11th of June 2025.

Our cadet, JUO. Deepan Vel, represented our group with great commitment and exemplary sportsmanship in the shooting event. Demonstrating remarkable precision, focus, and consistency under pressure, he secured the Bronze Medal, bringing pride to our unit and showcasing the quality training and discipline instilled through the NCC program. This achievement reflects the dedication of both the cadet and the instructors, and it serves as an inspiration for fellow cadets to pursue excellence not only in academics and leadership but also in sports and extracurricular activities. Yoga Session By NCC Cadets

The NCC Unit of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer First Grade College, KGF in Association with 10 KAR Battalion NCC, Kolar conducted yoga session on 26th May 2025 from 8:45 am to 10:00 am at our college campus open auditorium.

A Yoga session was successfully organized with the objective of promoting physical well-being, mental clarity, and discipline among NCC cadets. This initiative reinforces the National Cadet Corps’ commitment to holistic development and aligns with broader national efforts to integrate Yoga into youth programs as a means of fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi, along with senior NCC officials Sub Maj Appaly Swamy, Sub Rajesh Babu, and Hav Vikas Pandey, whose encouragement greatly inspired the cadets.

The session was conducted by Mr. Shivappa, an advocate and certified Yoga teacher, and Ms. Bhagya Jyoti, a professional Yoga instructor. They demonstrated various Yoga asanas and techniques, while also educating the cadets on the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of regular Yoga practice.

A total of 50 cadets, along with several students and faculty members, actively participated in the session, making it a truly inclusive and engaging event. The presence of CTO Mayur A. Wadeyar added to the significance of the occasion. He also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the instructors, dignitaries, and participants for their involvement and support.

The session concluded on a positive note, leaving the participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of Yoga in leading a disciplined and healthy life. The success of this event reflects the collective efforts of the NCC unit, faculty, and supporting staff in fostering holistic growth among students.
