The Department of Life Science has organized Industrial visit on 31st May 2022. 30 students and 4 faculty members visited “BOROTECK SCIENTIFICS” at Nerallekere, Bangarpet. The students gained knowledge on manufacturing glassware and its importance in Laboratory.
Awareness Program on Cancer and its treatment using Stem Cell Therapy
The department of Life Science in association with DKMS and BMS Bengaluru organized an awareness program on Stem Cell Therapy for Blood Cancer on 22nd May 2022 at SBMJFGC KGF. Cheek Swab sample was collected from the public volunteers and students for HLA compatibility for further stem cell donation. 80 public volunteers, 04 faculty members and 25 students of SBMJFGC KGF actively participated.

100 participants from different streams of neighboring states actively participated and interacted with the resource persons. Both the sessions focused on the preparation of research report, interpretation of results,scopes of research and multidisciplinary projects.
Field Visit
The Department of Life Science organised Field Visit for B.Sc-BGB Students at Chaldhiganahalli, KGF, Kolar District and visirted the agricultural field and interacted with the farmers on advantages of organic farming and Biofertilizers for the production of crops without pollution on 22nd April 2022 . 20 students and 03 faculty members are actively participated in the field visit.
WORLD EARTH DAY
The Eco Club of SBMJFGC KGF organized awareness program for the farmers on Impact of chemical fertilizers on the Environment and the advantages of organic farming and Biofertilizers in order to observe “World Earth Day 2022” on 22nd April 2022 at Chaldhiganahalli, KGF, Kolar District. 10 student members and 02 faculty members are actively participated in the awareness program to educate the farmers to protect the environment, restore damaged ecosystems and live a more sustainable life.
