Introduction
The Student Welfare Council (SWC) in association with Placement Cell organised a Placement Training Program on 28 September 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted with the objective of preparing students for the contemporary recruitment process and equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to successfully face campus placements and job interviews. A total of 156 students participated in the programme.
Objectives of the Programme
- To familiarize students with the current corporate recruitment process.
- To explain the different stages involved in campus and off-campus recruitment.
- To help students understand the importance of an effective resume and ATS-friendly formatting.
- To improve students’ performance in aptitude and technical tests.
- To develop communication, presentation, critical thinking and professional skills.
- To prepare students for technical and HR interviews.
Major Topics Covered
- Campus Placement / Job Posting: Students were encouraged to follow placement announcements and company career pages and to check eligibility criteria such as CGPA, branch and year of study.
- Resume Screening: The resource person explained the importance of a clear and relevant resume highlighting projects, skills, achievements and qualifications.
- Applicant Tracking System (ATS): Students were introduced to ATS-based screening and advised to use simple, professional and machine-readable resume formats.
- Aptitude Test: The session covered quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, speed and accuracy, with emphasis on regular practice and time management.
- Technical Test: Students were encouraged to strengthen subject fundamentals and learn to apply theoretical concepts to practical situations.
- Technical Interview: The importance of project knowledge, fundamentals, practical understanding, problem-solving and honesty about resume-listed skills was highlighted.
- HR Round: The discussion covered communication, motivation, professional attitude, career goals, adaptability, teamwork, salary expectations and relocation flexibility.
- Offer Letter: Students were advised to carefully read CTC, joining date, location, terms and conditions and other employment-related details before accepting an offer.
Outcome of the Programme
- Students gained a clearer understanding of the complete recruitment journey.
- Students became aware of the different stages and filters involved in selection.
- Students understood the importance of ATS-friendly resumes and relevant keywords.
- Students gained practical guidance for aptitude, technical and HR interviews.
- Students learned a structured approach to answering behavioural interview questions.
- Students developed greater awareness of professional behaviour and employer expectations.
- The programme motivated students to adopt a continuous approach to placement preparation.
Conclusion: The Placement Training Program conducted on 28 September 2026 provided students with valuable insights into the expectations of modern employers and the different stages of the recruitment process. The practical guidance provided by Mr. Sankalp, Placement Trainer, helped students understand the importance of preparing separately for each stage of the selection process. With the participation of 156 students, the programme served as an important initiative of the Student Welfare Council and Placement Cell towards enhancing students’ employability, confidence and preparedness for future career opportunities. The programme concluded successfully with appreciation for the resource person, organisers, faculty members and students for their active participation.
