Event: Kargil Vijay Diwas Commemoration

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of SBMJC solemnly observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2025 to honor the valor, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian Armed Forces during the Kargil War of 1999. The event aimed to instill a sense of national pride and pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Objective of the Event

The primary objectives of the Kargil Vijay Diwas observance were:

  • To commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the Kargil conflict.
  • To instill values of patriotism, duty, and courage among the cadets and students.
  • To spread awareness about the historical significance of the Kargil War.

Programme Highlights

The event began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of the fallen heroes.

Patriotic Song and Poetry

NCC cadets presented patriotic songs and poems dedicated to the Indian Army, evoking a strong emotional response from the audience.

Speech by CTO Mayur A Wadeyar

CTO Mayur A Wadeyar addressed the cadets and students, emphasizing the importance of national security, discipline, and youth participation in nation-building. He urged the cadets to carry forward the legacy of bravery and commitment exhibited during the Kargil War.

Screening of Kargil War Documentary

A short documentary on the Kargil War and Operation Vijay was screened to provide visual insight into the challenges faced by Indian soldiers and their heroic efforts in reclaiming the occupied peaks.

Vote of Thanks

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Cadet Nandu Priya, who expressed gratitude to the principal, faculty members, NCC officers, cadets, and attendees for their participation and support in making the event a success.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas commemoration at SBMJC served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our armed forces. It reinforced a sense of pride, respect, and responsibility among the cadets and students. The programme was not only educational but also deeply moving, instilling in everyone present a renewed sense of patriotism and gratitude toward our soldiers.
