79th Independence Day Celebration

The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with immense pride and patriotic zeal at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, on 15th August 2025. The celebration was a collaborative effort organized by the NCC unit, in coordination with the NSS team and the Department of Physical Education. The entire campus was beautifully adorned with tricolour decorations, creating a vibrant and patriotic atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the occasion.

Dignitaries in Attendance

The event was honoured by the gracious presence of several esteemed dignitaries and guests, including:

  • Chief Guest: Honorary Subedar Major Sashi Kumar
  • Dr. L. Jaya Pandiyan – IQAC Coordinator & NSS Officer
  • Mr. Shiva Kumar R – NSS Officer
  • Mr. Murali Kumar P – PU Coordinator

The ceremony commenced with a warm and formal welcome by JUO Deepan Vel, representing the NCC unit.

Segments of the Event:

  • Welcome Address: Ms. Shilpa extended a heartfelt welcome to all dignitaries and attendees, setting the tone for the event.
  • Introduction of the Chief Guest: Cadet Ranjeetha presented an inspiring introduction of the Chief Guest, highlighting his decorated service and contributions to the nation.
  • Flag Hoisting: The National Flag was ceremoniously unfurled by Honorary Sub Maj. Sashi Kumar, accompanied by all dignitaries, followed by the singing of the National Anthem that resonated with pride and patriotism.
  • NCC Pledge: Administered by CTO Mayur A. Wadeyar, this moment reaffirmed the cadets’ dedication to national service and discipline.

Inspiring Speeches and Messages

The formal proceedings were enriched with motivating speeches by the dignitaries:

  • Chief Guest Address – Honorary Sub Maj. Sashi Kumar: Delivered a stirring speech emphasizing the invaluable sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle. He urged the younger generation to take active responsibility in shaping a stronger and more inclusive nation.
  • Dr. L. Jaya Pandiyan: Highlighted the critical role of education in empowering youth and stressed the importance of active civic participation in building a progressive India.
  • Mr. Murali Kumar P: Encouraged students to draw inspiration from the heroes of the independence movement and strive for excellence, integrity, and selfless service in all pursuits.

Vote of Thanks

The program concluded on a grateful note with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Shiva Kumar R, who acknowledged the efforts and contributions of all individuals involved coordinators, staff, cadets, volunteers, and students  for making the event a resounding success.
