INTRODUCTION:

The Student Welfare Council (SWC) organized AN AWARENESS PROGRAM ON “CAREER AS A COMPANY SECRETARY”  to 2nd year PUCstudents . The objective of the program was to provide insights into the Company Secretary (CS) profession, its scope, required qualifications, and career opportunities available for commerce students.

PROGRAM DETAILS:

The session commenced at 12:15 pm. with a welcome address by Ms. Maria Leena, Lecturer, Economics Departments and Introduction about Resource person  by Ms. Suman, Lecturer, Commerce Department.

The resource person, CS Spoorthi Muralidhar, delivered an informative and engaging talk on the role of a Company Secretary in modern corporate governance. She highlighted the importance of the CS profession in ensuring legal compliance, corporate transparency, and ethical business practices. The speaker explained the structure of the CS course, levels of examination, eligibility criteria, training requirements, and the wide range of employment opportunities in corporate, legal, and consultancy sectors.

  • Importance of Company Secretaries in corporate administration and compliance
  • Overview of the CS course offered by ICSI
  • Eligibility requirements for PUC/12th students
  • Examination pattern: CSEET, Executive, and Professional levels
  • Mandatory training and practical exposure

CONCLUSION:

The awareness program successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the Company Secretary profession. It motivated many commerce students to consider CS as a viable and prestigious career option. The Student Welfare Council (SWC)  thanked CS Spoorthi Muralidhar for her valuable guidance and appreciated the active participation of the students.
