The Department of Kannada in association with K. S. Narasimhaswamy Foundation and Kannada Culture Department Mandya organized Poetry Singing / Poetry Reading Competition with the theme ‘woman’ under the title ‘Glory’ on 28/10/2025 for all Degree students.
14 students and 03 faculty members participated in the Guest lecture.
The Student Welfare Council (SWC) of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, in association with IQAC , Rotract Club and Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Tamaka Kolar, Rotary Kolar Collective Action, Kolar, organized a Free Medical Health Check-up Camp on 06th November 2025 at 11:00 AM.
The primary objective of this health camp was to promote community health awareness and provide accessible healthcare services to students, faculty, and the general public.
Participation:
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the college community and the general public. The camp was inaugurated with a welcome address by the Student Welfare member, followed by an introductory note by Dr. Rekha Sethi , Principal , Dr L Jaya Pandian, NSS Officer, SBMJFGC,KGF and Mr. Mahesh Rao Kadam, Coordinator , Rotary Kolar Collective Action.
List of Specialist Doctors Available: 1. Gynecologist – Women’s health checkups and consultations 2. Orthopedic Specialist – Bone and joint assessments 3. Ophthalmologist (Eye Specialist) – Vision and eye health screening 4. ECHO Specialist – Echocardiogram diagnostics 5. Otolaryngologist (ENT Specialist) – Ear, nose, and throat consultations 6. Dermatologist (Skin Specialist) – Skin care and related issues 7. General Physician – Primary care and general health checkups 8. Surgeon – Consultation on surgical conditions 09. Diabetologist – Diabetes screening and management advice
Free Services Provided: 1. General Health Check-up 2. ECG (Electrocardiogram) 3. Blood Pressure, GRBS (Glucose Random Blood Sugar), and Blood Tests 4. Distribution of Selected Free Medicines
Outcome of the Camp:
A large number of beneficiaries availed themselves of the free services. Many individuals received early diagnosis and medical guidance. The collaborative efforts of the medical teams and student volunteers ensured smooth coordination and effective service delivery.
Conclusion:
The Free Medical Health Check-up Camp proved to be a significant success in addressing basic healthcare needs and raising health awareness among the community. The Student Welfare Council of SBMJFGC extends heartfelt gratitude to all participating institutions, medical professionals, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the camp.

A Career Guidance Session on the topic “Study and Career Prospects Abroad” was organized at Jain College, K.G.F., under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Rekha Sethi, Principal, Jain College, on 04/11/2025. The session aimed to enlighten students about various opportunities available for higher education and professional growth overseas.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by by Ms. Arfa Tasneem, Treasurer of SWC , followed by an inspiring speech from Dr. Rekha Sethi, who emphasized the importance of global exposure and the need for students to equip themselves with the skills and confidence required to succeed internationally.
The session featured two distinguished resource persons from AHZ UK Study Abroad Consultancy:
1. Ms. Jesna Latheef, Regional Manager, AHZ UK Study Abroad Consultancy, shared valuable insights into the procedures, eligibility criteria, and benefits of pursuing higher education in the United Kingdom. She discussed popular courses, scholarships, visa processing, and the cultural aspects of studying abroad.
2. Ms. Anitta Joseph, Country Manager, AHZ UK Study Abroad Consultancy, highlighted the wide range of career opportunities available for international graduates. She elaborated on part-time work options, post-study work visas, and pathways to permanent residence. Her session motivated students to think globally and plan strategically for their academic and professional futures.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer round, during which students clarified their doubts regarding admission requirements, course selection, and financial planning. The resource persons appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and encouraged them to make informed career choices.
The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Arfa Tasneem, Treasurer of SWC , expressing gratitude to the Principal, resource persons, and participants for making the session successful and informative.
Overall, the Career Guidance Session proved to be an enlightening experience that broadened the students’ horizons and inspired them to explore international avenues for education and career growth.
The Department of Life Science observed World Diabetes Day on 14th November 2025. Blood sugar level was checked for the teaching and non teaching staffs of SBMJFGC, KGF. Awareness Program was conducted for the non teaching staff and to the public .
