The Department of Commerce, Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Organised an Industrial Visit to Deccan Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd Dasarahosahalli Bangarpet for 2nd year B.Com students. 47 students and 2 faculty visited Deccan Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd to interact and understand how the various products are manufactured for four wheelers, Commercial vehicles, Tractors and Off-Road vehicle segments. They also supplies for both Domestic and International markets suh as BEML, VOLVO, TATA, L&T Constructions, and SAME DEUTZ- FAHR.
In the morning @ 10.30 am we visited to Deccan Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd we divided our students in Group for the visit and the interaction with the industry persons. In this visit students were very eagerly waiting for listening to department’s head explanation regarding process of production.

A Career Guidance Program was organized by the Final Year Bcom Students of Department of Commerce with the aim of providing valuable insights into competitive and professional career paths—UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). The initiative was designed to foster peer learning, clarify common misconceptions, and help juniors make informed decisions regarding their career goals.
Program Objectives:
To introduce students to the career opportunities offered by UPSC and ACCA.
To share practical preparation strategies and personal experiences.
To encourage early planning and goal-setting for professional success.
To promote awareness of study resources, coaching, and time management.

1. UPSC Session (Civil Services Examination)
Speaker: Ms. Kritika Krishnan and Asfiya Fatima Final Year Bcom Students
Provided an overview of the exam structure: Prelims, Mains, and Interview stages.
Discussed eligibility criteria, subjects, and optional paper choices.
Shared study techniques, including NCERT book usage, mock tests, and daily newspaper reading.
Highlighted online platforms, coaching institutes, and time management strategies.
Emphasized the importance of perseverance and current affairs awareness.
2. ACCA Session (Global Professional Accounting Qualification)
Speaker: Aaliya Firdous and Aleena Muskan Final Year Bcom Students, Introduced the ACCA qualification, global recognition, and career benefits.
Explained the exam levels: Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills, and Strategic Professional.
Clarified exemptions available for commerce background students.
Shared details on registration, fees, study materials, and coaching options.
Highlighted internship requirements and job prospects both in India and abroad.
The Department of Commerce at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, organized a comprehensive orientation program for its new students on July 5, 2025. The event aimed to familiarize students with the Department’s academic framework, extracurricular activities, and career prospects.
The program commenced with an engaging ice-breaking session, allowing students to interact and build connections with their peers. This was followed by self-introductions, where students shared their interests, academic backgrounds, and career aspirations.
The Department’s activities, including academic curriculum, projects, and other initiatives, were highlighted to give students a clear understanding of what to expect. Additionally, the career opportunities available to B.com graduates were discussed, providing students with insights into potential career paths and industry expectations.
Dr. Kasturi, Head of the Department of Commerce, presided over the program, offering valuable guidance and encouragement to the students as they embarked on their academic journey. Overall, the orientation program was a resounding success, setting a positive tone for the students’ future academic pursuits.
National Level conference held on 29th April, 2025 at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, Organized by Department of Commerce and Business Administration.
The conference featured Dr. N. Raveendranath Kaushik, CMA (SEBI Certified Social impact Assessor for Social Stock Exchange Bengaluru), Keynote Speaker, C A Vinodh Chandra Charted Accountant, CEO MyLogic Business School, Finance Controller Century Link Technologies USA, Resource Person, Dr. D. kalaivani, Associate Professor, Department of Information Science and Engineering, NHCE Bengaluru, Technical Chairperson, Discussing the Role of New Generation Technologies and its Applicability in the Field of Commerce and Management.
This conference was attended by 100 Delegates exploring Innovation in Commerce and Management with 30 Research paper presented.
The conference proceedings were published in AE International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research(Peer-reviewed journal) ISSN Number 2277-5684.
Key Concepts discussed in the conference:-This National Level Conference witnessed an amalgamation of peerless speakers who enlightened the crowd with their knowledge.
The session started with welcome address by Ms. Sandhya, Assistant Professor, with the introduction of resource person and felicitation.
Principal Dr. Rekha Sethi has given a brief talk on overview of the conference. The dignitaries along with principal, IQAC Coordinator, Heads of various Departments, Faculty members and participants from various reputed institutions inaugurated the ceremony.

The Department of Commerce organized a guest lecture on 21st April 2025 for the B.Com students on the topic “LEGAL ENVIRONMENT”. The session was graced by the esteemed resource person Mrs. Neha K. Metha, Advocate (LLB) known for her insightful understanding of business and commercial law.
The session aimed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of the legal framework surrounding the business environment in India. Mrs. Neha K Metha discussed key legal concepts including contract law, consumer protection, intellectual property rights, company law, and labour legislation. She emphasized the importance of legal awareness for commerce students and how legal compliance plays a vital role in ethical and successful business operations.
Mrs.Neha K Metha also interacted with students, addressing their queries related to real-world legal challenges businesses face today. Her practical examples and case study approach kept the session engaging and informative.
The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating Mrs. Neha K Metha for her valuable contribution and the students for their active participation.
The session was a great success and proved to be an enriching experience for all the attendees.
