  1. The Rotaract Club of SBMJC-KGF successfully organized a Walkathon in collaboration with Rotary KGF and Narayana Heart Centre, Jalappa, Kolar under the theme “Walk to Prevent a Sudden Heart Attack.”
  2. The event witnessed active participation of 120 Rotaract members from SBMJC-KGF, showcasing great enthusiasm and commitment.
  3. The Walkathon was strengthened by partnerships with Rotary Prime KGF, SBI, Gautami Hospital, and Rotary Club of Singapore, adding credibility and wide support.
  4. Participants were provided with custom T-shirts and refreshments, creating unity and encouraging an energetic atmosphere throughout the event.
  5. The Walkathon aimed to create awareness on heart health, emphasizing the importance of regular physical activity in preventing cardiac risks.
  6. The collaboration between Rotaract, Rotary, and healthcare institutions highlighted the power of collective efforts in addressing community health concerns.

The Art of Selfcare by Rotaract

The Rotaract Club of SBMJC-KGF successfully conducted a Community Service Initiative titled “The Art of Wellness.”The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Manjesh Param, a professional wellness and nutrition coach.

The session highlighted the significance of a balanced diet in maintaining overall health. Mr. Manjesh emphasized the role of self-care practices for mental and emotional well-being.

The importance of regular physical exercise was discussed to improve fitness and prevent lifestyle diseases. Participants learned about the different types of wellness, including physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellness.

The coach also guided students on adopting healthy food habits for sustainable health. The initiative aimed at creating awareness on holistic well-being and encouraging a healthier lifestyle.

Both students and faculty members actively participated, interacted, and gained valuable knowledge from the session.

Eye Donation Awareness Talk

The Rotaract Club of SBMJC organized an Eye Donation Awareness talk and seminar, held at SBMJC KGF Auditorium on Saturday, August 30th 2025.
The event featured a guest speaker, Dr. C.A. Muralidhar, MBBS, MS, Medical Director and Chief Ophthalmic Surgeon at Gautami Hospital, KGF, who shared valuable insights on eye donation and care.

Dr. Muralidhar emphasized the significance of cornea transplant surgery and its impact on restoring vision for individuals in need. He also explained the eligibility criteria for eye donation, highlighting that anyone can be an eye donor, regardless of age or background.

The event aimed to dispel myths and misconceptions about eye donation, encouraging attendees to pledge their eyes after death. President Rt. Naveenan from Rotary KGF Prime was present, adding to the event’s significance and reinforcing the importance of community service.

The event saw participation from 200 members, who attended the seminar from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, gaining valuable knowledge and taking a step towards creating awareness about eye donation.

NAVA YUGAM – 10TH INSTALLATION

The Rotaract Club of SBMJC-KGF successfully held its 10th Installation Ceremony, “Nava Yugam,” with great pride and enthusiasm.
The event was graced by the Principal of SBMJC KGF, Parent Rotary President, Secretary, Youth Service Director, Rotary Prime President, District Rotaract Representative, District Core Team, EC and DC members, along with Rotaract’s from BMSE and SSMRV.

The ceremony witnessed the collaring of Rtr. Kishan as Incoming President by the Parent Rotary President. The new BODs were formally badged, and an impressive 118 new members were inducted into the club. Inspiring addresses from dignitaries. Followed by lunch and fellowship, making “Nava Yugam” a truly grand and memorable installation.

Eye Care Awareness Rally and Eye Camp

The Rotaract Club of SBMJFGC, KGF in association with Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital Bengaluru organised awareness on Eye care and conducted Free Eye Camp for the employee, students of SBMJFGC, KGF and Public of KGF on 27th February 2025 in the auditorium from 9:45 am to 3:00 pm.

Objective: To provide free eye check-up services to the people of KGF and surrounding areas.

Event Highlights: 200 Students took part in Rally.

The attendees received free eye check-up from a team of ophthalmologists and optometrists from Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital.

Services Provided: – Free eye check-up, Counselling on eye care and hygiene. Outcome: The event successfully raised awareness about eye care and regular check-up, benefiting 107 students & 60 Public people,

The eye camp was a great success, and we look forward to continuing similar initiatives to promote eye health in the future.
