Introduction
The Student Welfare Council of Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain First Grade College, KGF, organised an Industry Readiness Orientation Programme in association with Vedupskilling on 18th August 2026. The programme was aimed at creating awareness among final-year students about current industry expectations, employability skills, internships, industrial training and career opportunities.
The session focused on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements and encouraged students to develop practical and professional skills alongside their academic qualifications.
Objectives of the Programme
- To create awareness about industry-ready skills and employment opportunities.
- To introduce students to Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- To provide guidance on interview preparation and techniques.
- To highlight the importance of internships, industrial training and practical learning.
- To create awareness about career-oriented courses and advanced domains.
- To encourage students to focus on skill development along with their degree.
- To introduce students to placement assistance and industry certifications.
Importance of Industrial Training
The presentation highlighted the role of Industrial Training Programmes in improving students’ practical experience, skill development, career clarity, project work, networking opportunities, resume enhancement and employability.
Vedupskilling Learning Model
Students were introduced to the different components of the Vedupskilling learning model, including:
- VED-LEARN – Industry blended content, live-paced learning and flexible learning opportunities.
- VED-MENTORSHIP – Cohort learning from industry professionals, career counselling and weekly doubt-clearing sessions.
- VED-SKILL – Internships, industrial training, application-based learning and major capstone projects.
- VED-CAREER – Year-round placement assistance, certifications, Letters of Recommendation and resume-building support.
Training Structure Explained
The presentation explained a two-month training structure.
First Month – Training/Research
The first month focuses on practical learning and gradual step-by-step development. The presentation stated that no prior knowledge is required, lectures are uploaded to the portal within 24–48 hours, portal access is provided for one year, and study materials and notes are available for reference.
Second Month – Projects
The second month focuses on applying concepts learned during the first month through real-time industry projects with mentor assistance. The programme includes an individual minor project for 10 days and a group major project for 20 days. The required software is provided free of cost.

The presentation highlighted the following certifications and documents associated with the programme:

- Internship Completion Certificate
- Industrial Training Completion Certificate
- Letter of Recommendation
The presentation also highlighted Vedupskilling’s association with Wipro’s credential platform and presented its certificate-related offering.
Outcome of the Programme
The orientation programme provided students with valuable awareness regarding the expectations of employers and the importance of developing employability skills. Students gained an understanding of how resumes are screened, the significance of ATS-friendly resumes, the role of internships and projects, and the importance of practical skills in improving career opportunities.
The programme also motivated students to explore industry-oriented training, develop relevant skills and prepare themselves systematically for future placement opportunities.
Conclusion
The Industry Readiness Orientation Programme by Vedupskilling was informative and career-oriented. It provided students with practical guidance on resume preparation, recruitment processes, interviews, internships, industrial training, projects and placement preparation.
The programme successfully created awareness among students about the need to become industry-ready by combining academic qualifications with practical skills and professional competencies.
The session concluded with an encouragement to students to actively participate in skill-development and career-oriented learning opportunities and prepare themselves for the changing requirements of the employment market.
